ข้อมูลจากการท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย (ททท.) ระบุว่า ในปี 2568 เกาะพะงันมีผู้เยี่ยมเยือนรวมกว่า 1,770,164 คน แบ่งเป็นนักท่องเที่ยวชาวไทย 518,685 คน คิดเป็นสัดส่วนร้อยละ 29 และนักท่องเที่ยวชาวต่างชาติ 1,251,479 คน คิดเป็นสัดส่วนร้อยละ 71 สร้างรายได้รวมกว่า 25,399.26 ล้านบาท โดยเป็นรายได้จากนักท่องเที่ยวชาวไทย 3,636.59 ล้านบาท คิดเป็นร้อยละ 14 และจากนักท่องเที่ยวชาวต่างชาติสูงถึง 21,762.67 ล้านบาท คิดเป็นร้อยละ 86 ของรายได้รวมทั้งหมด สะท้อนบทบาทของเกาะพะงันในฐานะจุดหมายปลายทางท่องเที่ยวที่มีความสำคัญทางเศรษฐกิจ โดยเฉพาะในกลุ่มนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติที่เป็นแรงขับเคลื่อนหลักของรายได้ในพื้นที่
